Swim and Canoes

BLUF: Canoes loading adjacent to every water room should be removed or drastically downed further away from the heartlands.


There was once a problem on this game where you couldn't swim in most water rooms, even with swim pracced. That has been resolved. An artifact of this is canoes adjacent to or extremely close to every single water room entrance.

I think it's probably time to reward preparation, either in practicing swim or purchasing or locating a canoe/boats where they make sense to be sitting.

Agree.

And a launch canoe lag timer so you can't just flee onto water e z p z even if you find a canoe!

I think I speak for everyone when I say this, we need more canoes. More swimming. You have all grown lazy. You need more aerobics. That is all, thank you.

What is the issue tho? If the hard working well prepared chaser has swim practiced why should they care about someone being able to move a few more rooms with a canoe

Are they trying to get a short cut and avoid chasing??

If you don't catch them while they type "get canoe" you can't have been spamming that perfectly!

Can we hijack this for reinstate remounts down spine which was literally a rite of passage for a newbie player to call themselves a "pker" if they could outrun a lykan from gap to cairhien (while being chased crit in abs and thanking Robert Jordan for Bela!)

Trolls can't learn swim, and can't enter water tiles with a canoe in inventory in the same way that a puke can.

And clearing out the zone in advance is only a partial solution, as repop will bring them back. Those canoes/rafts are an instant free escape in most cases, with merely a "get all", dismount, and moving one room onto water.

One of the funnier encounters I have had on the Mud was probably years ago, I was near old justice grabbing a gate code and suddenly there were like 2 or 3 trolls looking for me, after a brief engage I bailed to a water room with a nearby canoe, and just sat in the room until no quit faded and then gated away.

I thought it was hilarious... and its also the only time I have ever experienced water rooms mattering around pk.

Doesn't take a trolloc problem for your post to make no sense!
